Jacinta Murphy spent 12 years training under Dianne Parrington at the Victorian Ballet School, Fitzroy. She completed Royal Academy of Dance examinations from Grade 4 to Grade 8 with Honours and vocational examinations to Advanced 1.
During this time she also completed VCE Dance under Dianne Parrington and Julie Mostyn and received 46 as a study score. She was subsequently invited to audition for Top Class.
In 2008 after spending two years performing with the Young Dancers' Company under Nicole Ryan, Sue Hayes and Laurel Martyn, Jacinta was accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts. At VCA she studied full time (Bachelor of Dance) in classical ballet, contemporary, pointe, pas de deux, repertoire, choreography and anatomy. Whilst at VCA, Jacinta performed in new and restaged works by Neil Adams and Stephanie Lake as well as performing in classical repertoire pieces such as Serenade (Balanchine), Don Quixote (Petipa), Raymonda (Petipa), Sleeping Beauty (Petipa) and An Evening (Murphy).
In 2009 Jacinta received a performers contract with Disneyland Tokyo.
In 2013 Jacinta completed the 2 year Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance (and under the mentorship of Josephine Woodberry) and is now a registered teacher. Jacinta has extensive experience teaching R.A.D. Classical Ballet, VCE Dance, Pointe, National Character, Neo Classical, Contemporary, Jazz and Conditioning. Her training has resulted in outstanding results in R.A.D. examinations, competitions as well as students being accepted into vocational training programs.
Jacinta's performance highlights include performing Raymonda's Vision (Raymonda), The Lilac Fairy (Sleeping Beauty), Lead Girl (Serenade), The White Witch (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), Snow Queen/Christmas Angel (Nutcracker), Pas de six (La Vivandiere), Titania's Attendant (Midsummer Night's Dream).
With a 12 years teaching experience and a genuine passion for educating young people in R.A.D. classical ballet. Jacinta decided to launch her school in January 2017.
Ballet classes are held in Glen Waverley, Melbourne and focus on nurturing and encouraging each individual so they can reach their full creative potential.
Abbey de Laine has been dancing ever since she was little. She has completed 14 consecutive years of training at Rowville Ballet Academy.
During this time, Abbey studied the Cecchetti Ballet syllabus. She successfully completed Grades 1-6 examinations and Intermediate and Advanced 1 in major, vocational exams.
Abbey has also trained extensively in jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, partnering, showgirl and acrobatics.
Abbey has participated in numerous elite dance competitions. She has consistently won overall high scores in her lyrical and contemporary sections. Abbey has represented the state of Victoria in the “Dance Star” National Championships two years in a row and has come home with three bronze medals. In 2017, Abbey became the under 17, 2 X state champion.
In 2019, Abbey completed Certificate 3 in Dance at Spectrum Dance Studios. Throughout her year of fulltime training, Abbey has worked alongside many artists to assist in performance. She was a backup singer and dancer in the 2019 “Save Our Sons” Gala event and Crown Palladium as well as performing in a major end of year showcase at the Palms at Crown. Abbey has also performed in Em Ruscianos “Rage and Rainbows” tour as one of her dances performing at Hamer Hall and the Palais Theatre. This tour also featured as TV special on Channel 10.
Abbey has had years of experience assisting her teachers in classes to teach younger students at her previous studio and has now been taking her own classes since 2019. Abbey has a real passion for dance and performance and most of all seeing the progression and growth of her students and pushing them to their fullest potential.

Cynthia Teh has been trained in Malaysia from Primary to Advance with well experienced teachers and current RAD examiner. She spent a few years performing with a local group in Malaysia and Indonesia.
In 1997, Cynthia graduated at Royal Academy of Dance College London with a Teaching Diploma. She then returned to Malaysia to teach.
Immigrated to Melbourne 2009 and has been teaching since and entering students for local competitions.
Cynthia has nearly 30 years of teaching experience and continues to keep learning.
Charlie MacArthur has 14 years of dance experience from Darebin School of Dance and Victorian Ballet School Darebin, undertaking training in Ballet, Pointe technique, Contemporary, Character and Jazz. Through these schools they have completed RAD exams from Primary to Grade 8, as well as her vocational Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced 1 examinations.
Charlie attended Transit Dance and completed her Diploma of Contemporary Dance and Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. They are also working to obtain their certification as a teacher of ‘Progressing Ballet Technique’.
Charlie completed the esteemed Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance) at Sydney Dance Company and is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne.
Charlie enjoys working with children and creating a positive environment to learn and play safely. Charlie has been teaching their own classes in Ballet and Jazz since 2021. She seeks to ensure a positive and safe environment for dancers and teachers and is passionate about fostering a love of dance and performance in young people

Tylah Syme has 17 year of dance training in various studios around NSW exploring ballet, pointe technique, national character, jazz, heels, musical theatre, tap, contemporary, and commercial.
She has completed with RAD her 4-8 Grade Examinations and Intermediate Foundation - Advance 1 Vocational Examinations.
As well as this she has explored contemporary choreography during high school through her HSC Dance.
Currently Tylah is completing her Diploma of contemporary dance at Transit Dance and is interested in choreography, performance and counter technique. She loves inspiring and being inspired through dance and all its limitlessness and seeks to support communities for children to cherish creativity, excitement, and positivity in dance.
Nick was Assistant Principal at Northcote High School for twenty years from 1997-2017. Throughout his leadership role at the school, he worked in areas such as student wellbeing, curriculum development and implementation of school policy and programs. Nick also oversaw the transition program for Northcote High School, one of the state’s largest secondary schools. This involved working closely with parents and local primary schools to ensure prospective students were supported as they entered the next phase of their education. Nick also worked extensively at setting up sister schools in China from 1999.
Nick's passion for education grew further when he began work on a first of its kind program involving International students in China accessing the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). This pilot program allowed Chinese students to prepare for Australian University entrance without having to leave their families and home. Nick also developed a number of international education conferences in China.
Prior to this, Nick worked as Senior Education Officer at the Museum of Victoria for six years. Projects included working on exhibitions including Special Effects, Present Arms! and Phar Lap. Nick contributed to the design of many of the educational programs enabling Victorian students to experience the Museum’s collections and stories firsthand, and was also involved in developing features of the new Museum building in Carlton Gardens.
In 2016, Nick was invited to become a tutor for the University of Melbourne’s Master of Teaching course. Nick was able to impart his considerable knowledge and understanding of learning and teaching to pre-service teachers.
Nick is in charge of JMSoD accounts, policies and media.

Julie Mostyn is a registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and has worked in the Education sector for over 30 years.
Julie’s initial training was completed at Rusden State College Melbourne, later to become Deakin University, Burwood. During this time Julie was tutored under the guidance of Shirley McKechnie (OAM) who instigated the first dance degree courses in Australia. Studies included classical and modern dance technique, choreographic studies and dance in education. Julie also received instruction from local and overseas dance professionals including Jan Stripling, Garth Welch and Kathy Lowe-Hendricks as well as local experts such as Graeme Murphy and Meryl Tankard.
After completing her training, Julie began her lengthy teaching career in the secondary school sector teaching Dance, English and Drama. Duties included coordinating and teaching dance and drama curriculum, teaching English to junior and senior students and directing numerous school performances. One highlight of Julie’s time teaching in the school system was coordinating groups of students performing in the State Government of Victoria’s Joining the Chorus. She continued in this role for many years.
In 2009, Julie accepted the role of teacher at Distance Education Victoria now known as Virtual School Victoria. Julie tutored students from a variety of schools in VCE Dance in preparation for their SACs and final performance exams. She is also an experienced assessor of dance.
In 2011, Julie began working at Australian Catholic University delivering the Certificate IV in Education Support. This involved the writing and teaching of course content, assessment and visiting students while on school placement.
Julie also tutored Pathway students in literacy and academic skills.
Julie is currently working with the Jacinta Murphy School of Dance in Glen Waverley and continuing her work in supporting children and young people to achieve their goals.
